The Requisites Of Becoming A Certified Pilates Trainer

Pilates is not just simple exercise rather it is a healing therapy. Therefore the pilate trainers are no less than medical practitioners or doctors. An instructor helps improve overall physical and physiological conditions, at times it is seen that exercises like pilates work better than the medicines given by doctors. Thus becoming a pilates instructor is challenging and involves thorough scrutiny of a student. There are numerous pilates training courses which train candidates thoroughly to become a pilates trainer.

The eligibility to become a certifed instructor are as follows:
  • A candidate must be physically fit and healthy
  • A candidate must be at least 18 years of age
  • A candidate must not have any criminal records or legal bindings
  • A candidate must not have any ailment or disorder
  • A candidate must be well learned and should have English language proficiency
The courses are held every year, the tenure of which are about 6months. Through these six months a candidate is thoroughly trained on the pilates movement. The courses cover the essential skills and knowledge required to execute pilates training. The students are taught the mechanical pilate principles like physiology and biomechanics, neuromuscular fundamentals, kinesiology and fundamental anatomy. The training institutes conduct regular assessments to test the student’s ability in this ground. There are interactive classes which begin early in the morning, the students are taught to use the exercising equipment like chi balls, magic circles, props and foam rollers. On qualifying the necessary tests a student can become a certified pilates instructor.
